ok, i can tell you how i have installed a compiler on my machine. it was the same way on fedora2 and my current debian system, because both had or have "apt" installed.

so i did (as root):

apt-get install gcc

after the gcc was installed i could run:

gcc -o foo bar.c

to compile my bar.c to the binary foo
This was an example how to use the gcc c-compiler

And now to your problem.
How is you compiler packaged? is it a .rpm file, a .deb file, .tar.gz, .tar.bz2, or is it a binary (not packaged or compressed)

do you already have it?
What distribution/system you're using?

if it is a binary do you can execute it?
if you can execute it do the compiler know the --help option?

I am pretty comfortable with gcc.I haven't got the compiler yet.But expecting it any time.I guess it would be packaged as .tar.gz format which includes all the soruce codes too.I am using Redhat Linux Enterprise AS 3.1.How we need to install it if we get the compiler packaged as .tar.gz and also do I need to create a makefile.Do I need to use the make command to make my compiling easier ..

Thanks a lot for your quick response....

maybe they deliver a Makefile too?!

i suggest to wait until you have the package and took a look at it. it may be better to decide how to install it if you have more details about it.
