Installing a boot loader with nvm drives
Hello,
I am having no luck installing the boot loader on my new NVM drives. I see that the bios is set to read from the NVM but yet the boot loader doesnt seem to take over after post. I have tried installing syslinux and grub. Also the cfdisk does not have a "boot flag" option on the partitions. Grub gives me error that it contains no bios boot drive. http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...psak0dl82y.jpg syslinux tells me that the boot flag is not set http://s1056.photobucket.com/user/ev...pshrqf155s.jpg With the usb installation drive removed it always tells me that there is no boot device available. http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...ps63eqr2uo.jpg Thanks in advance! |
1. More detailed hardware info: mainboard and NVM drive
2. Which Linux distro are you using? 3. The second link does not work at all You should use the partition layout: EFI boot /(root) /home /var /tmp and a swap partition. |
You need to create protective MBR in addition to GPT (gdisk can do it), and you need to flag your boot partition as bootable.
