Installing 32 and 64 bit JDK rpms on a 64bit RHEL 5.5 server

We are currently trying to install the 32bit and 64bit jdk rpm on RHEL 5.5. We want the installations to be on the system at the same time and not have either compromised in term of losing libraries. The java default should point to the 64bit jdk but we need the 32bit jdk installed to build a 32bit app. Has someone else come accross this situation that can give us some tips?

If you are installing the JDKs via RPM then you will have to check if the RPMs are relocatable or not. If they are then you can install them in your desired location using the "--prefix" option.

Here is a good guide.

We had several people working on this and they first reported it was not relocatable but they were trying the --relocate option and it turns out that the - -prefix option does work so thank you valen_tino we will use the - -prefixe option
