Hi,
I'm also having the same problem. I'm unable to install FC3 on SATA HDD. It's showing the message the HDD not found on the system. Can anybody help with drivers for SATA HDD. Thanks. Regards, Ashwin Malunjkar ashwin_think@yahoo.com |
Hi
The reason it cant find the SATA drive is in the BIOS, the interface for the drive needs to be set to IDE, if this fails you can boot using the following 1. if it stops at detecting PCI use = "kernel" pci=nommconf 2. also try to disable ACPI in the BIOS. The drivers for the SATA should be easily downloaded from Wester Digital or from the Motherboard website http://www.intel.com/products/mother...33FB/tools.htm |

1. if it stops at detecting PCI use = "kernel" pci=nommconf [/QUOTE] I'm not able find this tag in BIOS conf. I've disabled the ACPI in BIOS level but still no luck. My motherboard is Mercury PI945GCM, so which drivers should be supported for this SATA HDD ? BTW, Thanks for your quick response. :) Ashwin. |
Hi Ashwin
I suppose you would have to do some searching using google, or contact the manufacturers...?? Not to do all the work, so you can have some fun too..go to http://www.mercury-pc.com/downloads.php and start here, I see its their support page. Shawn |
