installation problems...HELP!
I'm trying to install linux (mandrake 9.1) on a compaq presario 1215US laptop.
everytime i attempt to install, the disk begins to boot, but hangs up just after it detects the usb ports ("usb-uhci.c= Detected 2 ports) i am having this problem with all distros that i have tried so far. somebody please please help me...if i don't get an o/s on this thing soon i'm gonna flip out and start killing people :eek: thanx |
USB Ports
You could always try disabling the USB Ports in the BIOS first off. See if that is actually the root of your problems. If that doesn't solve things, we will work from there.

there's no option in the bios to disable usb...the only options it has are password on startup, date & time and boot order
