Mother board-DG45ID
Chipset-D45.
SATA DVD-RW.
SATA Hard disk
RAM-4gb

I've been posted this thread previously, somebody suggested me to install fc12. I've installed fc12, My major purpose is installing MOBLIN SDK.The moblin packages are available only for fc9.I was unable to get the packages for fc12. Can any one guide me how to install fc9 on this configuration.

Thanks in advance...

Just boot from the CD, and tell us what goes wrong. I'm writing from a box running FC9. It's not dead (quite) yet.

Hi,

I tried to boot with fc9 with LIVE-CD, First i got a graphical display there i've selected to "Verify & boot". Then there i got

Unable to find persistent overlay:
Using temporary Redhat NASH version.
All Services were ok
After finishing of running all services,

Fedora release9
kernel 2.6.25-14.fc9.i686 on an i686 (tty1)
Localhost login:

Here it is getting stoped. Even i was not getting graphical display too. Can any one guide me.

Thanks in advance...

You selected a boot option for fc12. If you want to regress from fc12 to fc9, why not try something like 'install' instead of 'verify & boot'

I have a Fedora 8 x86_64 dvd here. I bang it in, reboot and it offers

install or upgrade an existing system
install or upgrade an existing system (text mode)

If the install option simply boots your existing system, something is wrong, probably with the cd. The key thing here is what kernel it boots. Have you done a yum update on your system?

Hi business kid,

I've installed fc9. The problem not with the CD,i think the problem is with the graphical card. In my machine after changing of graphical card its supported. Now again i got a problem in assigning the ip its taking by default some ip address through DHCP when on board is disabled.
when i was trying to enter the ip and gateway through setup command its coming upto choose a tool, there i've selected network configuration then also its repeatedly showing the same dialog box(i,e choose a tool).Even its not showing any devices at system>administration>network>network configuration. I've connected D-link to it then also its not showing any devices. can you guide me how to configure ip in this manually.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Ramesh...

look around in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-<interface>

Bootup network settings are there, for /etc/rc.d/init.d/network. Mark your installation problem solved by edit/ advanced on the first post. If you have a network problem, start a fresh thread and give full details of the problem, the equipment, the setup, and what you have already tried.
