Installation: PHP (GD 2.0 library) on Red Hat 8.0?

Hello

I have Red Hat 8.0 and PHP 4.3.1 installed with GD 1.6. But I have small program that depends on new functions from GD 2.0 (http://www.boutell.com/gd/)

I installed the GD 2.0 library but it doesn't work. Phpinfo says that GD 1.6 installed and php script gives an error message that function from GD 2.0 package is not supported.

How I install:
#1 download
#2./ configure
#3. make install

No errors but PHP still use GD 1.6 (Old version).

Any ideas ?

Thanks
M.S.

i don't know what GD is, but why don't u remove 1.6 version?
if it came with your distro, rpm -q GD and remove the rpm by rpm -e rpmfile
