Unhappy Installation oracle 10gR2 under OpenSuse 10.3

Hello evrybody,

I trayed to install Oracle 10gR2 under linux Opensuse 10.3.

I download 10201_database_linux32.zip

But I cant find the DISPLY variable.

So, when I run ./runInstaller I have this message:

Code:
UnitedLinux-1.0, asianux-1 or asianux-2
                                      Passed

All installer requirements met.

Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from /tmp/OraInstall2008-05-24_08-09-50PM. Please wait ...oracle@linux-tcsb:~/product/10.2/db_1/database> No protocol specified
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':1.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

        at oracle.sysman.oio.oioc.OiocOneClickInstaller.main(OiocOneClickInstaller.java:2091)
And I cant continue the installation because there is no explanatory instructions of oracle 10g.

I think that I should precise the varible DISPLAY but I didn't find it.

When I wrote this commande "xhost +"

Ihave this mesage:
No protocol specified
xhost: unable to open display ":1.0"

So, can you help me to find the display varible.
I'm waiting for a help.

Thank you.

Are you on the console or signed in from somewhere else?

If on the console try running startx to start X Windows.

If somewhere else you need to set DISPLAY variable to that location - typically something like hostname:0.0 or ipaddr:0.0.

To verify X is working type "xterm" to see if it opens and xterm window. You can close it by typing exit.

If your other location is on an X windows session (e.g. you are logged in using PuTTY from an MS-Windows workstation) you'd need to install and invoke an X windows tool like Xming (open source) or Exceed (commercial software from Hummingbird).
