Post installation of mplayer plugins

anybody who can help me install my mplayer plugins , what are the to be carried out after unpacking the mplayer package, a folder with name mplayer.090 is created which contains some files and directories, now what all i have to do to install plugins when iam typing "make" or "make install" its not working,

even ./configure

What is it you're trying to install, the Mplayer or the mplayerplug-in? Both have passed version 1.0
Also, "its not working", could mean anything. It would help if you could copy and paste the actual error messages you're getting so we could see what you're doing.
