Hi everyone,

I've downloaded the Cryptocard end-user software for Linux from the following site:

When I try to install it on my PCLinuxOS 2008, I get the following errors:

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Fix for issue

Hello,

The CRYPTOCard software is currently supported on RedHat 3/4 and SUSE 9/10. You are experiencing the error because you are using a more recent version of Linux that includes a more up to date kernel. There is a manual fix for this though.

For the CRYPTO-Server 6.x installer run this command

cat CRYPTOServer_6_4.bin | sed "s/export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/#xport LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/" > CRYPTOServer_6_4.updated.bin

make CRYPTOServer_6_4.updated.bin executable (chmod 775 CRYPTOServer_6_4.updated.bin) and launch the installer.

Not sure what version of linux you are using but this installer may require The xorg-x11-deprecated-libs package.

For the CRYPTO-COnsole 6.x installer run this command

cat CRYPTOConsole_6_4.bin | sed "s/export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/#xport LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/" > CRYPTOConsole_6_4.updated.bin

make CRYPTOConsole_6_4.updated.bin executable then launch the installer.

This installer package may require the compat-glibc and compat-libstdc++-33 packages.

The installer package for the CRYPTO-Server also uses the chkconfig package (available or RedHat and SUSE) to create the daemon run-level links. The package chkconfig is not available, you need to run this command after the install of the CRYPTO-Server installer

update-rc.d ccjbossd start 36 2 3 4 5 . stop 20 0 1 6 .
update-rc.d cclogd start 40 2 3 4 5 . stop 15 0 1 6 .
update-rc.d ccptcld start 40 2 3 4 5 . stop 15 0 1 6 .
update-rc.d ccmysqld start 34 2 3 4 5 . stop 25 0 1 6 .

OK, found a solution that allowed me to install this application. Here's what I found on a Fedora board:

Quote:
cp yourfile.bin yourfile.bin.bak (so we have a working copy)
cat your.bin.bak | sed "s/export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/#xport LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/" > /tmp/yourfile.bin

That is not a typo for export above (#xport). You must use the same number of characters or else the installer thinks that the file is corrupt.

Now just make sure that /tmp/yourfile.bin is executable and then run.
However, when I go to the /bin directory of this application, I see the following files:

Code:
[root@localhost bin]# ls /usr/local/cryptocard/ccsoftwaretools/bin
Authenticator* Authenticator.lax* lax.jar libdl.so.2@ TokenManager*
When I try to run TokenManager, I get the following error message:

Code:
[root@localhost bin]# ./Toke*
./TokenManager: error while loading shared libraries: ../../../../j2sdk/jre/lib/i386/libjsig.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Any idea what I can do now???? Please help, running this application is the last piece of software that will free me from Windows completely.

Hi Felix,

Thank you so much for your response. I think you responded when I was typing up my previous post, so I missed your post until now.

I am not trying to install the server version of CryptoCard. My job has the server version installed and I use Windows at home to connect to work. But for over a year I've been trying to run the CryptoCard client software on my Linux computer, which would free from from Windows all together.

Please go to the link that I posted in my original message. There you will see a link for Red Hat/Suse/Linux client. That is the software that I'm trying to install. I hope that you can help me install this software, I would HIGHLY appreciate it of course.

Also, I managed to install the program, and now I have another problem. I've googled the error message and have not found anything useful so far. I'll keep on searching though.

Cheers,
shahgols
