installation from the iso's


Hi,

How can i install linux with the iso files on the harddisk
I already have a linux distro running on my box . i want to remove it and install a new one from the iso's.

That all depends on your distribution. You basically need to boot the installer and tell it to perform the install from the ISOs.

I have a similar question. Using the boot.img diskette I am trying to do a harddisk install of Centos 4.2. The install program asks me for the partition and directory which hold the centos .iso images. I reply as follows:

device: /dev/hda1
directory: /centos (actually c:\centos)

but always get an error message indicating that it can't find the images. I am assuming my syntax is incorrect. Can someone straighten me out?
