Could you be more specific ?
Is the problem arising during installation phase, of at (first) boot ?
Can you boot the system with the rescue option (I presume this option still exists in RH.
What hardware are you running on. Like for instance if it were a laptop, it could be that AFTER the partition check, another system is polled (like the PCMCIA cards), which then could hang the system (happens with e.g. Dell Inspiron 8000).
