install vmware/need rc0.d
 

hello im trying to install VMware and during the installation it is asking me this
What is the directory that contains the init directories (rc0.d/ to
rc6.d/)?
iv searched for this but cant find it can any one tell me where it is or maybe just point me in the right direction please

should just be /etc/rc0.d through /etc/rc6.d
although it may depend on your distro, this is definately it for debian

hello i have found it when i searc for it i open my editor and it is under
/etc/rc.d/
but when i type this in to my terninal for the setup it says
The path "/root/etc/rc.d" is not an existing directory.
but i know it is i can see it can you give me any suggestions please

now i have a direcory called rc.d in /etc which contains "rc.0" "rc.4" "rc.6" and several others but i hav not got a directory called "rc0.d/" and i really do want some help to get me past this stage thanks for all the replies im hoping to get

Before you install and run VMware Workstation, check the following notes and make any necessary adjustments to the configuration of your host operating system.

* The real-time clock function must be compiled into your Linux kernel.
* VMware Workstation for Linux requires that the parallel port PC-style hardware option (CONFIG_PARPORT_PC) be built and loaded as a kernel module (that is, it must be set to m when the kernel is compiled).
i havent got a clue what this means

Hello i have found the answer not going in to to much detail vmware does not support slackware so any body wanting to run vmware in slacware should either go to this web page directly
