Install tarball in Antergos

Been going nuts with this one.

I'm trying to install the latest version of Gnucash, v. 3.3, I've just installed it on 2 Linux Mint boxes, because the instructions are pretty good:

https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Building_On_Linux

However, being used to Mint, I can't figure out how to transfer those instructions to Antergos, especially building dependencies as with something like
Code:
sudo build-dep gnucash
I can't find the equivalent in Antergos, probably because my search-phrasing seems to suck big time.

I just need a little help, here, guls, just finding the Antergos equivalent. Haven't gotten anywhere in the Antergos forums.

I don't have an answer, but perhaps a few tips. According to Wikipedia, Antergos is Archlinux based and uses Pacman.

Furthermore, when searching for "build-dep" and Archlinux, you find pages like https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=111681, which is a discussion how to do the equivalent of build-dep on Debian.

And just by the way, Archlinux seems to have a Gnucash package, though it's 3.2.6. I suppose this should also work for Antergos.

Hi:

I went to find out about Antergos on Distro Watch to make sure what it was based on.
Since Antergos is based on Arch Linux you should check in the AUR for Gnu Cash:-

https://www.archlinux.org/packages/c...86_64/gnucash/

You'll have to satisfy those dependencies first though.

-:::-To install a pkg including dependencies with pacman see this page.-:::-

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/pacman

The other way to install it would be to download the tarball, extract it and read the "ReadMe" file or the "Install" file. One of those 2 files will give you instructions on how to compile and install it.

The compressed tarball is on this page under 'source code'.
