Just to let you know I have been successfully to the support group and into the chat room. Unfortunately no-one there due to the time difference.

I notice though that some of the script is showing as symbols, mainly of a rectangular shape, and ntherefore not readable. I also get this when I load the Gimp and consquently have not been able to play with it.
Any ides for remedying this appreciated.

Thanks all for your help.

this seems to be connected to the problem I am having. but... with me its a case of something going wrong with the install.

I get the licence agreement & all seems to go fine.
when I attempt to run ANY java app I get the error

"java not found."

I was running an old version of Kaffe java (1.07 , Mandrake 9.0 standard)
& wanted to upgrade to 1.4.1
if I just type java it does not even reconise it as a command.
I have tried to install as root as well at su.
can anyone help with this one ?

Go to command line. Type su, enter, and enter your password when prompted. Then type mozilla and hit enter
