Install problems with Java plugin on Mozilla 1.6

I am trying to install the Sun JDK 1.4 and it appears to be done ok. When I try to install the browser plugin, I get "installation failed" and an access permission error. OK, so I logon as root and try again, no luck. I chmod the file to allow r,w,and e by all users, still no luck. What did I miss? Thank you. Rick Shoop

All you need to do is create a symbolic link to the file in your (Netscape-compatible) browser's plugin directory. So for instance, if you have Mozilla (Firefox, Galeon, or whatever using /usr/lib/mozilla) you would type ln -s /path/to/ /usr/lib/mozilla.
