install nt on a machine that had linux


im trying to install nt on a machine that had linux on it, when the install finishes and reboots lilo wants to load and machine freezes.

i thought i formatted the whole drive.

what do i have to do?

you need to

fdisk /MBR

lilo is on the master boot record, the above command will wipe it out... then reboot, windows will rewrite to the MBR automatically.
