install jre for a newbie

Yes, it's another newbie w/problems installing jre on SUSE 10.0. What's the command to switch to root in konsole to execute the different commands to install jre. Working w/a bad cold, so a step by step might be in order. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Type #su for root access.

Doesn't Suse has JRE installed? Or you want to unistall it and install the latest package?

That helped, thanks. Couldn't remember su for the life of me. Went easy after that, except for misspelling the file a couple of times. Thanks again.
