Install Icedove on Ubuntu

For reasons that are unknown to me, I cannot get Thunderbird to play nicely with Google calendar. I already have Icedove setup on a different machine working perfectly, exactly how I want it.

Can I install Icedove on a Ubuntu machine so I can just copy my profile across or can I just use the Icedove profile with Thunderbird?

Idedove is thunderbird rebranded by Debian. Just use the icedove profile as the thunderbird one by copying dot files across/renaming as required.

Worked perfectly! Thunderbird checked for updates, updated appropriately and seems to work fine! How on earth did my Thunderbird profile get to 5GB though? :O

Thanks so much!
