When trying to install my distro (White Box) everything works fine until i have to put in disk 2. I get an error message that says:

Disk could not be mounted.

I have checked and there is data on the disk. Whats wrong? Is it my drive?

Did you download disk 2 as an iso image? If you did, do a "md5sum" of the image file and compare it with the md5sum posted by the site from where you got the image. Most distro and mirror sites provide this. If they do not match, you have a defective iso image download and will need to download it again.

So, assuming they did match...

I assume you then burned the image to cdrom. Do a "md5sum" of the cdrom drive with disk2 inserted (it does not have to be mounted). Use the device name, not the mount point name. For example, "md5sum /dev/cdrom". The md5sum result should match the earlier results. If they do not, you need to reburn the cdrom.

If both tests pass, then perhaps you are getting on-the-fly read errors the install program was not able to recover. You can retry and hope it gets through or perhaps try burning another cd onto media from a different manufacturer.

Hope this helps...
