hi
i have compiled 2.6.8 its running fine.
i have written a simple driver from linux device drivers(hello worrld).i compiled it after converting it in 2.6 style. but i m not able to insert it using

1. insmod :
module not found in object
insmod : error inserting module " " -1 Invalid module format

2. modprobe :
FATAL : module "" not found

i googled a lot but unable to find a solution.
even i come to know that 2.6 requires .ko file instaed of .o file so i did a simple "cp" to convert .o to .ko but its not working. what this .ko is and how to generate a .ko?
