Information about modules

Is there a way to find out, given a module file (say tg3.o),

a) The version of the driver
b) The Vendor & Model IDs this driver implements.

I tried modinfo. modinfo only provides a textual description.
The description doesnt exactly match with the description in
the /usr/share/hwdata/pcitable.

thanks
Joe
