Incorrect keyboard mappings under F20/MATE
Hello,
Hopefully this is the right place to post this and it's not already answered (I did try some searching first). I have several Fedora 20 installs that are fine, but a recent one has a weird problem. Details: Fedora 20 x86_64 MATE Compiz spin/install Laptop: ASUS G60VX The problem I'm having is that the backslash character instead inserts a less-than character, and the pipe (shift-backslash) inserts greater-than. Shift-comma and shift-period for the regular less-than and greater-than work normally. Any ideas - maybe I need to customize the keyboard somehow? Many thanks. |
I don't know the reason that this is different on this laptop, but I have a workaround (from fedoraforum), so in case anyone is interested...
I used xev to check what code that key is sending. On most other systems of mine, backslash/pipe are number 51, but on this one it is number 94. I created a .Xmodmap mapping number 94 to the backslash and bar functions. |
