In Motion... Or Not..

Hi,

I am trying to come up with a solution to a problem which has been niggling me for a while now,,

I have a program where the computer is monitoring using the Webcam. If I wish to use the pc and have Linux running on the computer what is the most secure mode, or should I say, "Locked State", I can leave it in?

The program I am running is Motion for my webcam.

I will be using Slack9.1 and KDE 3.2

Many Thanks

Rob

The answer to your question is....it depends. If others have physical access to the Slackware box then you've got a problem. Generally physical access equals no security. The only thing I can think of would be to run it completely headless (no monitor, keyboard or mouse) and access it only through SSH from another computer. Of course that isn't going to stop somone from supplying their own hardware and going from there. You might want to check out this thread as it was a reasonable discussion of a similar problem.
