IMWheel

I was wondering if anybody's used IMWheel v 1.0.0pre4. In the instructions from Aussie here it suggests downloading 1.0.0pre1. However, I'm assuming that this is because pre4 wasn't out yet. Just wondering if anybody has found this version to be buggier than pre1. I know that probably wouldn't make sense, but just thought I'd see.

Thanks,
tslug

Yes I'm using it.
To compile it, I've used the "--disable-gpm" parameter.

It seems to work well, except with Mozilla 1.3 :

I like to have copy and paste with my extra buttons (Intellimouse Optical)
so I have made the following ~/.imwheelrc :

".*"
, Thumb1, Control_L|C
, Thumb2, Control_L|V

and it works well except with Mozilla (Mozilla makes "page up" everytime I click on any of the 2 extra buttons).

Someone has an idea ?

I just use it for back and foward in my browser, but it lends it self to other things when I need to press alt+left or right. I'm using 1.0.0pre2 atm. Pre4 should work though.

I've also tried the back/forward configuration and it does the same thing : it works well (in konqueror) except with Mozilla (in Mozilla, each time I press a side button, it does "Page Up").
I think the problem comes from Mozilla 1.3 (someone here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...threadid=50999 has the same problem).

Mozilla used to work, but they are trying to get this function built into the linux version (they already have it in the win32 version) and I think that their efforts may have broken my little hack in 1.3.
I often see links to bugzilla in my logs where they are discussing side buttons.

Thanks for the help, all, I'll try this today. Keelize, can you enlighten me on the use of the "--disable-gpm" parameter? What does it do, and how do you know when you should use it?

It disables building gpm support into imwheel, if you don't use gpm you can disable it, but you should have no problems if you leave it alone. I don't use gpm and I also don't bother to disable it when I build imwheel.

Well, I have problems : if I leave it alone, imwheel does not compile (I don't say that the problem comes from imwheel, but it's the only way for me to compile)
