Importing konqueror bookmarks into mozilla/firebird
Where exactly does konqueror store its bookmarks? I thought it was somewhere like ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror ... and in an .html file? I am having trouble importing my konqueror bookmarks into the new version of mozilla/firebird, can anyone shed a little light on the subject?? Thanks in advance
You can export the Konqueror's bookmark to any folder
in Linux.
If you try to export it, you will find the default place where
Konqueror's bookmarks live in in the dialog box.
I forget it, now.
I'm in windows, sorry,
I can't tell you exactly where is.
Mine are stored as ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/bookmarks.xml. To port them to Mozilla (which uses .html) you can select Bookmarks->Edit Bookmarks; then, in the Bookmark Editor, select File->Export, and use the 'Export to Mozilla Bookmarks' option.

I'm running Debian, with KDE 3.3.2
Konqueror does not have the option you mention to export. I have access to the XML file, but I cannot convert it from what I can see over to anything that Mozilla reads (either Mozilla, Firefox or IE).
covltwt, you should be able to export your bookmarks. Using an old Knoppix 3.6 CD I confirmed that KDE 3.2.3 has these options to export bookmarks from Konqueror:
Export to IE Bookmarks
Export to Opera Bookmarks
Export to Mozilla Bookmarks
Export to Netscape Bookmarks, and
Export to HTML Bookmarks
Knoppix is based on Debian, so it's most likely your KDE version 3.3.2 (later than the KDE version I checked) will have the same options. Make sure you are looking in the right place:
In Konqueror select Bookmarks-> Edit Bookmarks
Then in the Bookmark Editor window that pops up from that, select File-> Export-> Export to Mozilla Bookmarks...
Bookmarkbridge might help - handy tool for syncing bookmarks between browsers.
Be a little careful when you're using it - if you sync one way (and choose the "wrong" destination), you can end up deleting all your wanted bookmarks! Don't let that put you off though - used with care it's a wonderful tool.
There's a package in the universe repository of Ubuntu. I'm sure many other distros carry this in their repositories too.
