Importing Inkscape .svg into *any* word processor
I have this simply brilliant program called Inkscape. I can whip up a simple, scalable diagram without torturing my PC's RAM glands with the girth of Adobe Illustrator. I have this other great program called Abiword - a bloat-free word processor. I'd like to import Inkscape .svg files into my Abiword documents. Can I do this? Can I arse.
Is there anyway I can get Inkscape files into any Linux-friendly wordprocessor? I was horrified at the results of using the abiword .svg plugin and similarly distraught at Open Office 2's lack of .svg file handling.
What gives? All I want to do - and I'm not asking much, it's 2005 for Chrissakes - is to insert scalable, laser printer friendly diagrams from (preferably) Inkscape into Abiword (or Open Office Writer if I absolutely have to (which I really, seriously, properly, definitely don't)).
It's important to get the simple, basic things right before gallivanting off into fluff like AJAX, 3D desktops et al.
