I just downloaded FreeMind (GPL) open source mind mapping software from
http://freemind.sourceforge.net/. It is written in Java. The problem is that it only allows to import bookmarks from Internet Explorer Favorites. I tried to test Konqueror to see if it would recognize my IE favorites when importing them but NO file is visible when selecting "Import IE Bookmarks." If I choose to import Mozilla bookmarks ALL my mozilla HTML files are visible. When trying to import IE bookmarks in FreeMind, the same thing happens, none are visible. I wonder if the problem has to do with file types or mime types. I'm thinking this is why they are not visible to Konqueror's IE bookmark import feature. But IE bookmarks (called favorites) are HTM files, so they have the same MIME type.
NOTE: I brought my Internet Explorer bookmarks (Favorites) into Linux through floppy disk. I also tried uploading the file to my online storage with windows and then downloaded the file
with linux. I noticed that on importing the file that instead of HTM (which is the file exptension in Windows for IE bookmarks) it became HTML in linux. Somehow, maybe the file was converted, not sure.
If there is a script for converting Mozilla bookmarks Internet Explorer bookmarks in Linux, it would be very useful. If you have any ideas of how to do this, I would appreciate any help.
