I'm not familiar with Opera, but you would have to be able to export what you're wanting so you can import it. If Opera supports this, it should export to a single file or directory of your choice then you can go under Linux and import it.
Sharing? Not likely. I've been trying to do this for about a year now without leaving it as "unread" on the server even after I get it to my computer..

I just figured this one out... it works with Thunderbird at lease... if you go into the account settings, there should be "Local Folders". If you change the local directory to a fat32 directory, you can point both, the linux and the windows clients to the same place for local directories.
