i did that but the list is always different!how do i know what's important?
other thing: i don't feel quite comfortable with putting some "local adresses" on forum (if what i think they are is right)
could you tell what is it that i should be looking for?

Look for the IMAP port that your netscape config is set to.

If you are usure then mark out the local addresses with xxx or mail me the results if it makes you happier.

imap.mail.netcenter-1.com

thats what mine wants

as far as outgoing I use linux "sendmail"

port 143

Now that does resolve properly, as does:
smtp.mail.netcenter-1.com

i tried imap.mail.netcenter-1.com but now it says could not connect to mail server imap.mail.netcenter-1.com :connection was refused

ahhhh so it does see it
hmmmmm
check username and format
does it want
<username> or
<username>@netscape.net or
<username>@netscape.com

I have a similar trouble
Netscape 7.1 here on my RH9 box can connect to netscapemail
but evoultion ( my primary mail reader ) gives the same errors you get

ehdwuld, it's username, but i tried other two just to make sure...nothing...
so, it's probably netscape-secured...that's a pity...
