Hey all. My co-worker and I are trying to make an imaging CD we can use to image the machines here at work with Win32 using the linux kernel/shell as the imaging platform. We have one that works, the only issue is that it can't image machines that have SATA HDD's. Is there any kind of work-around for this issue?
note: my co-worker is the one who made the CD and knows what he's doing -- I figured I'd ask to see what we could do.
you've provided no real information about what happens when you try to etc.. we're not psychic ;-)
maybe your kernel modules aren't mature enough.. assuming you're even trying to load them. make sure your kernel is up to date and provide us with more to go on...
Ok, here's what happens:
I put the rescue CD in (cd from: http://www.sysresccd.org) and it freezes at the line "hdg: host protected area => 1" and won't continue booting. It works on all of the EIDE Systems, but this SATA machine will not boot. Any input would be much appreciated.
