"Imaging" an install to another machine

Well, I don't think imaging is exactly what I want to do. Here is what I'd like to accomplish. I have a server running RH9 setup and running fairly well (doing what I need it to do, so far) and it is pretty much in a "production" state, meaning I don't want to "try" anything on it. I want to take the entire configuration and move it to another machine. I will use this new machine for testing purposes, so if I want to add a new feature I will use this server first instead of "mucking up" the production. The machine is not identical, but all the hardware in the machine is supported by RH9. My partitioning scheme is nothing fancy, I have 3 partitions: /boot, SWAP, and / . I see I'll probably have to format ahead of time. Well, I don't know, hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction on how to do this.
Thanks

You could image the drives using partimage or something but I tend to just do a second install and copy the config files relative to the purpose of the machine from one machine to the other.

if thehard drive in the second machine is bigger, you
can hook up the second drive to the first machine,
and use dd to copy it over.
