images without window decorations

does anyone know a prog that i can view images without the menubar, toolbar, statusbar exc... (the window decoration i can turn off my self)?

i want to be able to see only the image (not fullscreen).
thanks.

If you were willing to view it fullscreen, you could just make it your wallpaper, and have nothing else on the screen. (Some window managers will let you have nothing else on the screen.)

But if you want to have a "window" pop up which is just the picture and no frame, that would be up to the window manager. I'm not aware of any window manager that will let you do that.

Depending on how important this is to you, you could always get the source of some really simple window manager (fvwm2 comes to mind) and modify it to suit yourself.

Hope this helps.

GQView but you'll have to experiment with the Preferences to get that functionality by default.

This is a weird way to it, but Opera's full screen mode really is -- it takes over the entire screen. Furthermore, it can display local image files. But wait, there's more :) -- its "Fast Forward" feature will let you scroll through a directory of images using just the keyboard (there's not much to click on in full screen mode).
