imagemagick and rotate image question

lo there,

i am using imagemagick to rotate an image i have of a circle. i need 360 images. Yep, one for each degree of circle travel. the image is a gif with a transparent background.
when i do this

Code:
convert -rotate 1 circle.gif circle1.gif
it rotates the image and saves it for me, but now its in a black background box.

i guess the images are always square, but is there a way to have image magick replace the black background with transparency again?

thanks.

According to 'convert -help' (as pointed to by 'man convert), the option you are looking for is:

-transparent color make this color transparent within the image

You might also be interested in:

-background color background color
