Question Image of HFSPLUS drive from iBook

I was given a GZIP'd image of an iBook G4 hard drive created with 'dd'

I do not have any drive geometry information. All I know is the original drive was a MK3018GAS 30gb.

I am trying to get to the customers data.

Anyone have any ideas on how I could uncompress this data and access it? I tried the following already:

Code:
gunzip -c image.img.gz | dd of=/dev/device conv=sync,noerror bs=64k
That runs without problem but the partition information is not there and I have nothing to try to mount.

I'd guess that loop-mounting the uncompressed image should work.

gunzip -c image.img.gz
mount -t hfsplus -o loop image.img /mnt/ibookdrive

You need kernel support for this filesystem.

But I don't know what to do when there is more than one partition in that image.

Jomen -

Absolute life saver! Thanks a bunch!

Had to pull the '-c' from the gunzip...

The following worked just fine:

Code:
gunzip image.img.gz
mount -t hfsplus -o loop image.img /mountpoint

I did not really read it - just copy&pasted from initial post - not intended to make it harder...
