IM server for Linux
Hello everybody
i'd like to set up an im server at our firm intranet, so that the employees can send and recieve instant messanges. I have heard of jabber, but this software isn't able to handle ICQ, AIM, MSN and Yahoo requests... Does someone know a good server im software for linux which can handle all or at least one of this popular windows related im clients? Also i am interessted on how much im clients are out there for linux. I would be happy if theres an im client like in the windows worlds known Trillian for linux.... Best Regards Sam |
What do you mean set up a server? All your listed protocols (ICQ, AIM, et cetera) already have servers set up by their respective companies. Are you thinking of having a unique IM setup for your company? If you're looking at a client for linux, check out GAIM; has either plugins or comes prepackaged to work with most of those services
