Question im new to linux redhat, need help!!

im new to linux redhat environment. im currently is using linux redhat 9.0.
why i using this OS? well, im doing a project which required me to use this open source OS. my project was about building a voip application from phone to phone.

As im new to this linux redhat, can any1 here help me or mayb guide me on this matter. advices are very welcome. thx

first thing, i need to write a program to do sound recording and then playback this sound out. or is there any existing program code that i can use?

there are a number of sound recording programs

ardour is a hard drive recording program - it needs various extra's installed
but there are several pages with tutorials on

audigy - this is a wave recorder and editor, similar to sound forge

here are some links that should help you get started
