Ignorantly deleted /dev/mtd1; now software upgrade is failing - need help

In preparation for software upgrade, I mistakenly erased /dev/mtd1. When I realized what I had done, I made matters worse, by deleting /dev/mtd0. I used the following command:

flash_erase /dev/mtd0 and flash_erase /dev/mtd1 respectively

Is there a way out of this jam?

Please help.

Reported as dupe of http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...il-4175443210/

You should post your issue in one forum. Your original post does have responses, BTW
