ifort and gfortran

Hi,

I am working with gfortran and I have compiled some codes of mine with it satisfactorily. But it seems that it does not work out for some other codes!!!

So, I am to install ifort too. But I am so afraid that these two conflict. Do they?

Also, tell me how to install ifort on opensuse.

regards,

I have both installed on my OpenSuSE 11.1 and I am not aware of any conflict. You can install ifort by requesting a license to Intel (non-commercial license if for personal use) and then downloading the installer from their website. Once you have extracted the .tar.gz archive, just run the setup script and follow the instructions. The setup will install RPM packages.

After the installation, just copy the file
Code:
/opt/intel/Compiler/XX.X/0XX/bin/ifortvars.sh
to /etc/profile.d and the correct environment will be set up at login (PATH, LD_LIBRARY_PATH and so on). The X stat for the installed version and release.
