Idiot Proof Guide to Webmail

Hi, I did a search for webmail, and got a bunch of threads, though none seemed to answer my Questions.

Basically, I'd like an idiot proof guide to configuring sendmail (installed on Redhat 8) and then adding in webmail. I don't know much about mail access, but as I understand it, Squirrelmail acceses mail accounts on sendmail using an IMAP connection. Is it possible to have Squirrelmail connect in that manner, and also have it so that any user could also connect on POP3 from a mail client and download their email?

Once again, I stress the words idiot proof.

Sendmail is only an MTA (message transfer agent). You need a mailbox application to support pop3 and IMAP. Squirrel mail is a client for accessing an IMAP mailbox.

One of my colleauges is undertaking a similar project at work just now. I pointed him to this document as a good starting place.

I found that link on another useful page

Like you though we are thinking of using squirrel mail rather than IMP (as described here). Then again we may offer both and let the users decide.
