iDesk Help

Hi, I'm at the end of my knowledge to fix this issue.
I've done a minimal Ubuntu install with openbox for my HTPC. I'm trying to use iDesk to get icons on the desktop.

Problem:
When I click an icon on the desktop nothing happens. In all my .lnk files Command:/usr/bin... line gets deleted every time I type it in to any .lnk file.

Interestingly, when I do ls .i* in my home directory .ideskrc file is missing. Is this normal?

If I do ls -a I can see .ideskrc file.

I stopped autoloading iDesk thinking it will help but no change.

Do I have a permission issue?

Reinstallation of iDesk no change?

Please help I'm lost.

Ben

acer@ACER:~$ ls .i*
.ideskrc

I copied the above from your post. It seems that you can see the .ideskrc file. It would certainly be abnormal if you couldn't. Your permissions for the .ideskrc must be user-writable or it won't save changes. The idesk executable must of course be executable by your user as well.
