Ideas for final year project

Dear all..

i am currently a student of Software Engineering and i am going to start my final semester in a few weeks.

i was wondering if you people could give me some ideas for final project..

i shall be greatful.

Play to your strengths, and outside interests, and try to predict what is going to get you a job next year. Are you hot on java, c/c++, windows/linux, DB stuff, music etc? Things I would rule out are linking to google maps (again) and anything else that you can put 'again' opposite. Smartphones are hot right now.

EDIT: Also consider college equipment, and expertise, and the choices you made. My son has just gone through, and the experience of lecturers was of great assistance in pointing him correctly.

i am a little good in java... and the thing here is that lecturers are not so good..you have to do each and everything by your self....

and the lecturers wont even supervise the projects related to cell phone development
