Ideas for code editors

I'm having nothing but problems with kdevelop crashing so I'm on the lookout for some other good code editor.

At the moment I use gvim an awful lot but as projects get bigger I could use some better featues like file browser, support for other code type/syntax highlighting etc.

Searching on sourceforge hasn't really turned up anything I like, so I'm wondering what you guys use?

I'm using Emacs with ECB.

It gives you:

* syntax highlighting
* file browser
* function browser
* CVS support
* and many more useful things :)

Its great, if you are familiar with emacs.

Well I've used Vi and Vim more but don't mind learning another. Btw what is ECB?

*np found ECB :)

Learning emacs isn't that hard - it has a tutorial for beginners on board.

Have a look at ecb.sourceforge.net (damn, I can't post urls until I've 5 posts) to see what ecb is.
