ideal distro for touchscreen kiosk?

hi,

I am tasked with picking a distribution to be used in an arcade gambling environment. The board is an intel chipset running a 600 mhz sempron. There is no hard drive. There is a 4 gb sd card and 512 mb of ram. I am considering using true crypt to hide the real OS and actual gaming roms. The distro must have touchscreen support. I have a prototype board running a standard Puppy distro but it does not seem robust enough. A single power cut usually corrupts the installation requiring "puppy pfix=fsck" or heavier command to restore it. I can't see an average kiosk attendant managing this with multiple machines. I need a very small compact robust kernel capable of hiding another tiny compact robust kernel that will run the games. They themselves require very little in terms of vid resolution or processing power.

I am kind of surprised you didn't get the normal choices such as gentoo or linux from scratch or a true deb or slackware install.

If you don't want to play too much might look at xpud and modify it a bit for your situation.

These games will be in constant use in real life. I thought the ones you mentioned might be too big and slow for the size of my sd card but I will look at any link you can give if my impressions are mistaken.
