icqlib problem

Hey there,i was trying to install a kicq version but during ./configure
something about icqlib missing aborts the process. How can i install the needed library or how could i check what do i have installed?
Is Kicq the best icq client for X? or there is another even better?
cus the preinstalled icq client with the X is so buggy i have to wait like for 20min for it to start being ready for use:)
TIA

you could locate the library if its on your system.
I think you also have to run ldconfig if you have just installed some libraries so that they are in the database.

try: locate / icqlib* |grep icqlib

replacing the icqlib name with the EXACT name that ./configure said it was missing.

If you don't have it download it, install it, and run ldconfig. This should fix the error.
