Icons in KDE

I'd like to change icons for some links I have on my desktop, but I've been unable to find out how. Can someone help me?

Thanx

Right click on the icon -> properties -> click on the icon -> select a new one.

When properties window opens, I can't click on the icon, it's not "clickable".

You need to create new launchers if the existing ones are not clickable.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "launchers".

Here's what I did:

I wrote some bash scripts and put the links to them on my desktop:
ln -s /home/infrared/myscripts/scriptname.sh /home/infrared/Desktop/scriptname

Then the links appeared on the desktop, but they have the default icon for shell scripts, and I'd like to change them.

So when I right-click on a link and click on properties, and the properties windows opens, I cannot click on the icon in order to change it, because it's not clickable.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

launcher = icon or menu entry for an app.

If you drag and drop some files to the desktop, you cannot change the icon. To work around this you need to create a new launcher from scratch. If you want the icon on your desktop, right click on your desktop -> create new and choose from the various options available.

Thank you, that helped! :)
