iceweasel won't restore tabs

Recently, iceweasel doesn't restore tabs (from last start). it opens homepage (btw, default homepage is broken).
Is there a way to fix it?

(iceweasel v28.0, lxde, debiantesting)

there are some warnings when starting it from shell:

Quote:
(process:14263): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed

(iceweasel:14263): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::sm-connect after class was initialised

(iceweasel:14263): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::show-crash-dialog after class was initialised

(iceweasel:14263): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::display after class was initialised

(iceweasel:14263): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: Attempt to add property GnomeProgram::default-icon after class was initialised
edit, I've just updated iceweasel to v29.0.1 but the problem persists.
'show my windows and tabs from last time' is selected.

Open the Preferences window by clicking on the last item in the Edit menu. Click on the General icon along the top of the window and you should see Startup and below this When Iceweasel starts: followed by a pull down menu. Select the item Show my windows and tabs from last time. Click on the Close button and your problem should be solved.

I don't know before what. it worked fine until a week or so. presumably one of system upgrades broke it.
didn't add any addons or change config.

So you're using the unstable version of Iceweasel (28.0) whilst the testing version (what I use) is 24.5. But the most recent unstable version is now 29.0.1-1 so you're a bit behind. You could try installing the latest version of Iceweasel and see if that fixes things.
Did you do apt-pinning to install the unstable version?
