ibackup
What is it? iBackup simplifies backing up the system configuration files (/etc) for UNIX systems (Solaris, *BSD, Linux). You can run the program from any directory, it will by default save the (maybe compressed) tarball to /root. It is possible to encrypt the tarball, to upload the tarball to some other host http://www.linuks.mine.nu/ibackup/ I just downloaded it and tried it out, but received some errors. root@slackware/home/snocked/ibackup-2.27$ ibackup linux Using /etc/ibackup.conf which: no dpkg in (/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin) which: no dpkg in (/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin) Please wait while archiving linux (/root)... tar: boot/grub/menu.lst: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: boot/grub/grub.conf: Cannot stat: No such file or directory tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors Please wait while compressing linux... My bootloader is lilo, not grub. I went to comment this command that involves looking for grub in the sysconf file, but it's not there. I was wondering if anyone else had used this program before, even though search yielded zero results. |
