I wish there was a way to use Red Carpet

I have posted a couple of times about Red Carpet. I can never seem to get it running. I can now load Red Carpet but there are only two channels:

--Evolution Development Snapshot
--Red Carpet 2

I can't seem to get updates from Mandrake. Either the mirrors won't load or it reports there is nothing to update. I have checked updates on the Mandrake site and there are tons of updates needed, way to many to do one-by-one manually.

I love Linux, but there has to be an efficient way to upgrade your system. Otherwise you might as well not even bother with security.

I have seen the question here before; "What would you like to see ported to Linux?"...

A better upgrade system!

If anyone knows what to do to get Red Carpet running, that would be nice.

Maybe I should try Suse.

Later.

Personally, for Mandrake, I prefer their urpmi.

Thanks for the heads up. I will remove that one from my list of links.

You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc
An Introduction to the Midnight Commander. You can install it by commanding:
urpmi mc
Midnight Commander home page
