Hi and welcome to LQ.
Which Linux distribution did you install? I assume you meant that when you boot the computer there's a menu where you can choose which operating system to boot into and there's only Linux (no Windows) to choose from. Is that correct?
Are you sure you have not deleted your Windows while installing Linux?
Can you go to the command line and type:
Make sure you post which distribution you're using.
By the way, try to use correct spelling, eg. 'I' instead of 'i', 'nd' => 'and', 'bt' => 'but'. Writing in text-speak is not 'cool'

linux and windows
Did you install both to HD partitions, or is one a virtual machine inside the other?
If to HD, HOW did you install and in what order?
What is 'swecha' in this context?

Sorry I have not understood a word from this sentence.
Please put some effort and provide info that we ask you about. Otherwise, it's difficult to help you.
... and spell your words correctly.

If you actually want help, providing some details may help. What kind of "lappy"? What version of Linux? How did you install? Did you repartition your drive?

linux and windows
There is a distribution called Swecha that is customized for use in India. Is that what you have installed?
If so, someone may have to chime in that knows what kind of install Swecha uses. You will also have to provide the requested information about your device environment. We would like to help, but are shooting into the darkness here.
By the way, I am running a machine that boots Windows Vista about once a month, and VSIDO linux the rest of the time. IT works great. If yours is not then either Windows has been overwritten or grub needs help finding it. Figuring out what the case is will be the point of our questions at first.
